According to the New York Times, New York Jets Head Coach Eric Mangini says he plans to be even tougher on his players in 2007. That can’t be music to the ears of Laveranues Coles, a vocal detractor of Mangini’s high-demand style throughout the 2006 season, and in particular the grueling summer training camp that often featured two three-hour practices in one day. The body of the 2006 Jets is barely cold, but, as reported in the Daily News, Coles is already dreading the 2007 edition of Camp Mangini, even insinuating that the toll on his body during Mangini’s tenure could eventually force him into early retirement. But lest Jets fans fear Coles is looking for the exit, fear not – unless of course Chad Pennington isn’t your starting quarterback next season. “As Chad goes, I go,” says Coles. “I’ll ride with Chad to the end.”
