Well, while everyone was buzzing about the two concussions suffered by Islanders franchise goaltender Rick DiPietro is a span of 12-days, DiPi apparently had other worries on his clouded mind.

The Islanders have revealed that the goalie battled a chronic hip condition during the season’s final two months – often carrying the team on his back despite the injury. Earlier this week, DiPi underwent successful arthroscopic surgery to repair a labral tear in his left hip. He’s expected to be ready to go well before training camp.

DiPi is entering Year 2 of his ridiculous 15-year contract on Long Island.
