Revving Reyes

Mets Rumors & News

Newsday’s David Lennon pens an excellent piece today about the leg injuries that plagued Jose Reyes early in his career – a subject that’s being revisited lately in the wake of Jose’s minor hamstring cramp on Wednesday night.

Reyes is fine and will be in tonight’s starting lineup, and his durability remains a credit to the hard work the trainers and the shortstop put in each and every day to maintain his cranky legs.

For more on Reyes’s training regiment and the people working behind the scenes to keep the All-Star on the field, check out the full article.

Giambi: The Juice Was No Use

Yankees Rumors & News

“That stuff didn’t help me hit home runs. I don’t care what people say, nothing is going to give you that gift of hitting a baseball.”- Jason Giambi

The Hall-of-Fame would disagree, Jason. Not to mention the rest of America.

In a rare public comment concerning his abuse of steroids, Yankees slugger Jason Giambi admitted to USA Today that he “was wrong for doing that stuff,” and is grateful for the measures Major League Baseball has put in place to rid the game of steroids and amphetamines. While baseball has been unable to devise a testing program for Human Growth Hormone, the Giambino denied still using HGH, though he acknowledged that those rumors will probably follow him for the rest of his career.
