Pennington Not Grounded…Yet

Jets Rumors & News

Chad Pennington’s status for next Sunday’s game against the Ravens is as expected ~ to be announced.

Via the New York Jets website, Coach Eric Mangini confirmed in his Monday news conference that Pennington has an ankle injury and it will be handled like any other injury situation.

“I know there is a lot of interest in the injury situation, especially Chad’s situation. It is the ankle, same as what was announced during the game,” he said. “We’ll review it through the course of the week and see where he is, like we do with every injury situation. This is the same process for anybody that’s injured and that’s really all there is in terms of an update on him or any of the various injuries from Sunday.”

In other news the Patriots have been accused (again) of having a cameraman spy on the opposing team’s coaches while they signal plays into the huddle. Last year the Packers accused the same person of a similar activity and had him removed from the sideline at Lambeau Field. The camera used …

A-Rod and company continue to hit their stride

Yankees Rumors & News

April was quite a month for Alex Rodriguez, but September is looking like one he wants us to remember. On Sunday he homered again giving him 52 on the year. It was his 7th in 5 games and his 9th in the last 11 games. With 19 games to go, A-Rod can only further cement his candidacy for the American League MVP. The stats: .318 AVG. 52 HR 140 RBI…and counting. Via

As it stands now, the Yankees sit 4 games ahead of the Detriot Tigers in the wild card. This past weekend saw Ian Kennedy, Andy Pettitte and Chien Ming Wang all deliver wins. Monday gives the Yanks a day off to reflect on a strong series in Kansas …

Giants review, ‘Kudos & Wet Willies’ style

Giants Rumors & News

Let’s review last night’s 45-35 loss to Dallas ‘Kudos & Wet Willies’ style — handing out praise to the deserving and scorn to those who didn’t measure up.

Kudos to …

• Eli Manning — Eli was terrific, completing 28-of-41 for 312 yards and 4 touchdowns. The one interception he threw was not his fault as his intended receiver fell down. Cross your fingers and pray the right shoulder injury he suffered late in the game is just a bruise. If he keeps playing like this the Giants will score a ton of points, no matter who they use at running back.

• Derrick Ward — So, this is why the Giants have kept him around. He took over early for the injured Brandon Jacobs, and played the best game of his Giants career with 13 carries for 89 yards.

• Plaxico Burress — Plax provided another argument for why the pre-season is useless. After not playing a down in the four exhibition games, he caught 8 passes for 144 …
