September Surge: Yanks now 1.5 behind Sox

Yankees Rumors & News

The Yankees are coming, the Yankees are coming! Boston knows all about invasions and they’ve seen the Yanks do this before.  After Wednesday night’s 2-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles, the Yankees moved 1.5 games behind the Boston Red Sox who lost in Toronto 6-1.  They also moved 5.5 ahead of the Detroit Tigers in the Wild Card.

Even though the pass rush has been anemic, I don’t think Coach Tom Coughlin and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo are ready to pull the plug on this yet. At end, Kiwanuka would still have to split time with Osi Umenyiora, Michael Strahan and Justin Tuck — who has been the Giants best lineman so far.

Also, if you move him what have you got for linebackers? Gerris Wilkinson is finally practicing, but nobody knows if he is healthy or if he is any good. Reggie Torbor? …
