Two Defensive Starters out for Dolphins

Jets Rumors & News

The Miami Dolphins’ website is reporting that Pro Bowl linebacker Zach Thomas (concussion) and safety Donovin Darius (calf) have been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Jets.

Head Coach Cam Cameron confirmed both players will miss Sunday’s game during his daily post-practice press briefing.

You hate to see any player injured, but with Chad Pennington hobbled by his own injury (and expected to start), not having Thomas chasing him around in the backfield can only benefit the Jets’ offense.

Could Torre outlast Randolph?

Mets Rumors & NewsYankees Rumors & News

It has been assumed for months now that a New York City baseball manager is working with a really short leash.

That may still be the case. It may be, however, that it’s Willie Randolph of the Mets and not Joe Torre of the Yankees whose future might be hanging in the balance over the next few weeks.

We shouldn’t be in this position. But we are. We’ve got to fight our way out and pull this out.”

The Mets are only 1.5 games ahead of the Phillies and are trying …

Stay Classy, Mets Fans

Mets Rumors & News

I understand Mets fans are frustrated.  The Mets have lost five of their last six, and have squandered a seven game lead, reducing it to a game and a half over the Philadelphia Phillies.  It is frustrating, no doubt, and fans need a way to vent, but try finding a better way then what a fan in Florida last night.

Some idiot (Yeah, I called him an idiot. While I don’t like to judge others, the stunt this guy pulled is deserving of idiot status.) at last night’s Mets/Marlins game in Miami thought it was a good idea to hurl a baseball onto the field, hitting relief pitcher Aaron Heilman on the forearm.  Initially you’d think that it was a classless Marlins fan messing with the opposition.  It wasn’t…  The guy who threw the ball was a Mets fan on crutches, wearing a “Jose Reyes” tee shirt.

Heilman wasn’t hurt by the throw, but that’s not really the point.  Fans need to have enough sobriety and self-control not to throw things on the …
