Giants: ‘Kudos & Wet Willies’

The San Francisco 49ers were no match for the New York Giants Sunday. The Giants’ 33-15 victory was even more lopsided than the score indicated.

With that in mind, let’s review the proceedings in our usual ‘Kudos & Wet Willies’ style.

Kudos to …

• The Defensive Line: San Francisco quarterback Trent Dilfer was the latest victim of the Giants sack attack. Dilfer went down six times, including 2.5 for Michael Strahan, who played his best game of the season, and 1.5 for Justin Tuck. Osi Umenyiora had a sack and a fumble recovery for a touchdown.

• Sam Madison: The 11-year veteran cornerback continues to turn back the clock. He had a nifty interception Sunday.

• The Offensive Line: No superstars in this group, but I don’t think you can find a unit anywhere in the league that is playing any better. Eli Manning is rarely hit, and there are regularly holes to run through.

• Brandon Jacobs: A career-high 107 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries for the …
