Islanders forward Chris Simon is up to his crazy shenanigans again. And by “crazy” I of course mean “psychotic”, and by “shenanigans” I mean “attempted manslaughter”. This time, Simon is facing disciplinary action for attempting to stomp on Pittsburgh’s Jarkko Ruutu with his skate blade. The Isles have dismissed Simon from the team in order to seek counseling.

When the NHL makes its ruling today, it will mark the seventh suspension of Simon’s illustrious career. You’ll recall most recently Simon received a 25-game ban for taking a tomahawk chop at Ryan Hollweg’s head during a Rangers-islanders game last March.
