waxman.jpgThe House Oversight Committee announced today that it has scheduled a hearing for Wednesday, January 16th, in response to baseball’s Mitchell Report. Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte, Brian McNamee, Kirk Radomski, and Chuck Knoblauch have all been invited to testify under oath at the hearing. While none of that motley crew has yet agreed to appear, the announcement released by the committee today listed the aforementioned under the heading, “Witnesses will include.”

Clemens’ attorney, Rusy Hardin, released the following statement:

“We welcome Chairman Waxman and the Committee’s interest in this very serious matter. Roger is willing to answer questions, including those posed to him while under oath. We hope to determine shortly if schedules and other commitments can accommodate the committee on that date.”
