Marty Could Stand In Way Of Brian’s Big Schott

According to the Baltimore Sun, Jets’ offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer is expected to meet with the Ravens this week (perhaps as soon as today) in order to discuss their vacant head coaching position. In a fun twist, the Ravens have also contacted Brian’s father, Marty Schottenheimer, who declined to participate in the first round of interviews. If Brian makes it through round one of talks, and the Ravens decide to reach out to the elder Schottenheimer as well later in the process, father and son could be in direct competition for the job.
Of course, under Brian’s leadership, the Jets have finished 25th and 26th offensively in ’06 and ’07 respectively. Marty’s resume speaks for itself.
