I’m numb. It’s finally over? I don’t believe it.
Carlos Gomez, Phil Humber, Deolis Guerra and Kevin Mulvey is the package that got it done, according to USA Today.
So the Mets acquire the best pitcher in baseball and hold onto their top prospect, Fernando Martinez. Not a bad day’s work for Omar Minaya.
The deal is pending the Mets and Santana reaching an agreement on a “six- or seven-year” contract extension, and of course, a physical. The Mets have 72-hours to get a deal done.
Truly unbelievable how things have developed over the last month. It’s a dream come true for Met fans.
