The Philadelphia Eagles have released two-time Pro Bowl linebacker Takeo Spikes. Should the Giants pursue him?

Considering the losses of Kawika Mitchell and Reggie Torbor the team might be in the market for help at linebacker.

takeo-spikes.jpgIs Spikes a guy worth looking at? He has been a terrific player throughout his 10-year career. Yet, he’s 31 and has missed chunks of the past three seasons with injuries.

I say pass on him. Let Gerris Wilkinson, Mathias Kiwanuka and Zak DeOssie develop and maybe draft a linebacker to add to the mix.

We don’t need a return to the days of Carlos Emmons and LaVar Arrington — injury-prone veterans who could not stay on the field.

Your thoughts?
