The Giants were a wonderful Cinderella story for a reason. The ride would not have been nearly as great were it not so improbable. Big Blue proved that the team with the best personnel doesn't guarantee anything come the postseason, but let's not kid ourselves into thinking that the Giants suddenly match up pound-for-pound with some of the league's heavy weights. Maybe you're right and the Jints deserve a bit more respect - 5th might be a bit easier for fans to swallow than 7th - however I don't agree that this is the giant slam you think it is.
