pedro_hurt.jpgI’ve never heard of Stephania Bell before, but evidently she’s a physical therapist, clinician, author and teacher with extensive experience in sports medicine, and she writes for ESPN.com, analyzing various injuries around the sports world.

Today she weighs in on Pedro Martinez and provides a thorough breakdown of her suspicions and guesstimate diagnosis for the pitcher’s recovery. Her conclusion?

For all of the reasons outlined above, it would not surprise me at all if the timetable for Martinez gets extended. Not only will his hamstring have to heal to the point where he has no pain with regular activity, he will have to resume a progressive throwing program and demonstrate that he can perform without pain in his leg and without excessive compensation elsewhere. In order for him to return and be effective, he needs to have the leg healthy.

Really interesting analysis and pretty unique content. Check it out.
