hospital.jpgPrior to yesterday’s home opener, reliever Matt Wise was placed on the 15-day DL with a right forearm contusion. Carlos Muniz was called up to take Wise’s place in the bullpen.

Meanwhile, the bullpen was also without Pedro Feliciano, who was granted a leave of absence to tend to matters in Puerto Rico, but whom was supposed to return in time for the game and could face disciplinary action for his tardiness.

Turning our attention to the infield, Luis Castillo left yesterday’s game with “right knee soreness” and could return as soon as today, but will more likely be given a day or two off.

But perhaps most concerning of all, according to MetsBlog, El Duque has returned to New York for an MRI on the injured right foot that has bothered him since last season, and which forced him to briefly experiment with altering his delivery.

Flushing, we have a problem.
