The Mets aren’t the only team in town facing injury woes. It looks like the Yanks will be without both Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada for at least the next few days.
According to the Daily News’ Mark Feinsand, Jeter will miss the entire series against the Kansas City Royals after injuring his quad Monday night.
Over on LoHud.com, Peter Abraham writes that shortstop Alberto Gonzalez was pulled out of AAA-Scranton’s game last night, and potentially could be recalled to fill in at short during Jeter’s absence.
Posada, meanwhile, described his shoulder as “dead” and is scheduled to undergo an MRI today. The veteran catcher has never been on the DL in his career, but he appears destined there now.
Needless to say, a DL-stint for either player would mean that they’d miss this weekend’s series against the rival Red Sox.
