Rangers Take Game 2

Devils Rumors & NewsRangers Rumors & News

Right before our very eyes we are seeing why Henrik Lundqvist is one of the highest paid goalies in the NHL. In game two he took the Rangers on his back as the Blueshirts beat the Devils 2-1.

Not only did the Devils lose game two, they lost home ice advantage the rest of the way and, in Zach Parise’s case, lost some teeth too.

Lundqvist stopped 26 of 27 shots to beat the Devils for the ninth time all season. He has allowed just 11 goals over that span. He certainly came through for the Rangers including stopping multiple good chances in the first period with the Devils swarming the net.

He did allow one goal during the third period to John Madden, but it was too little too late for the Devils who were outscored in the third period yet again.

Both have started the season at 5-5 and both have their question marks surrounding their pitching. The Yankees enter this season as the underdogs to Boston for the first time in a long time, so you would have to think Joe Girardi’s crew is on a mission. Let’s see how Joba Chamberlain responds to the Fenway faithful if he gets into any games this series, how Hughes bounces back form his rough outing in Kansas City a few days ago, and if Derek Jeter will see any time this series. Yankees Rumors & News

This is hysterical. According to the New York Post, a Boston fan working construction on the new Yankee Stadium “covertly buried a Red Sox T-shirt under what will become the visiting team’s locker room to jinx the Yanks.”

The Yanks, for their part, seem unperturbed. Said the ubiquitous Howard Rubenstein: “It sounds like a tall tale, and it would take more than a Red Sox T-shirt to put a curse on the Yankees.”

I don’t know though. Is it really worth taking that chance? Why not dig it up to be safe? It’s only concrete…
