Meet the Mets 2008 is an annual publication released by Maple Street Press. It’s intention is to give Mets fans all of the information they need for the Mets 2008 campaign. They have succeeded in doing so.

The first thing that caught my eye when I picked up this publication was a picture of Johan Santana who graced the cover in a Mets hat. It was refreshing to finally read a 2008 season preview that factored in the Santana trade; which was completed after most publications had met their deadlines.

Once I opened it up and began to thumb through it was hard to put down! I found the annuals articles to be informative and well thought out. Meet the Mets 2008 contained a vast amount of topics, ranging from the upcoming season to prospects on the farm. I was also thrilled to read some Mets history as they leave Shea stadium and enter Citi Field in 2009.

Although this annual is “for Mets fans by Mets fans,” this isn’t a “rah-rah” publication. …

Sunday morning is usually a good time to go around to different blogs and see what everyone is talking about. Today, I saw something I thought I would touch on myself.

If you watched yesterday’s Yankees – Red Sox game on FOX you saw some bizarre television. I’m sure most of you have been following this rivalry and you know that these games always have their twists and turns, especially when it’s in front of a national audience. In the top of the eigth inning the Red Sox leading 4-3, the Yanks were starting a rally. With two men on and two men out Alex Rodriguez was about to step up to the plate. With the game on the line the Sox decided to bring in Jonathan Papelbon. Here’s one of those moments that this rivalry thrives on…then the rain came. So we had to wait out a two hour rain delay before we saw the climax of the game. By this point, many fans went home, tuned out or lost …
