The most unbelievable offseason in any Jets fan’s memory is over leaving a mysterious new emotion in its wake.  Hope.  There’s also a little fear mixed in there.  Where once there was a salary spurned patchwork offensive line there is now a veteran yet somehow youthful secret service agency entrenched around our quarterback.  That quarterback position, which began the preseason as a question mark with a red shirt on, is now manned by a battle tested field with something to prove.  He does not have a rag for an arm.  He also has had just about a month to learn a freakishly complicated offense.

It’s hard for Jets fans not to expect the worst.  I’m so worried that Favre is going to get smacked around that I’ve almost convinced myself the Dolphins won’t miss Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas.  I’ve also somehow become afraid of Ricky Williams for God’s sake.  Ridiculous.  Irrational.  The Dolphins were 1-15 with their defensive superstars.  Is Chad Pennington going to step in …

Knicks Rumors & News

The New York Knicks acquired forward Patrick Ewing Jr. from the Houston Rockets for the rights to center Frederic Weis. Weis was drafted by the Knicks in the with the 15th selection in the first round of the 1999 NBA Draft. However, he never signed with New York, electing to continue his European basketball career. Weis, now 31, seems to have no future in the Rockets plans and is currently playing for the Spanish club, Iurbentia Bilbao.
To draft Weis, the Knicks passed up New York Native Ron Artest, James Posey and Andrei Kirilenko. The 7’2” French center is best remembered for being dunked on by Vince Carter in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.
Ewing Jr. was drafted 43rd overall by the Sacramento Kings in the 2008 NBA Draft. He was traded to the Rockets on August 14th as part of a multi-player deal. Knicks …
