The New York Jets announced their partnership with StubHub yesterday to auction off 2,000 seats in the their “Coaches Club” section. The online auction will begin on Sunday, October 19th, and run through Monday, October 27th. Winners of the exclusive sale will seat fans five yards behind the team’s bench in the new Meadowlands stadium. The section located on the 50-yard line has it’s own bar/lounge area with complimentary food and drinks to go along with the section’s own security team. Members will receive free VIP parking next to stadium and can stand in the tunnel before games and listen to Head Coach Eric Manginis press conference.
This is the first time a U.S. sports team has auctioned off their personal seat licenses. Also this will be the first time the market will be setting the price for the best seats in Giants Stadium. Bids will start at $5,000 per seat license for the “Coaches Club.” Last month, they announced their plan that will cost some season-ticket holders $4,000-$25,000 to retain their seats. However, the 27,000 upper deck seats do not have a PSL fee.
StubHub is the largest online ticket community in the world and is owned by eBay. High rolling fans will get to experience something unique and special in the new stadium opening in 2010. The New York Giants set their price of $20,000 for their most expensive PSL’s. The open auction for the “Coaches Club” will likely surpass that price of the Giants.
