Jets to Wear Blue and Gold- Voodoo? Whodo? You do. Only if We Win

Jets Rumors & News

Last week, the day after the Jets dropped 56 points on the Cardinals, I received a text message from a fellow fan.  He had read somewhere that the Jets would be wearing the throwback Titans jerseys when the Jets come back from the bye against the Bengals and he was furious.  Jets fans, as I’ve said before, are similar to abused puppies.  This is a perfect example. One whole day had passed since Favre threw a career high 6 touchdowns as a Jet (in a Titans jersey) and people had already found something to worry about.  In my head, we had won right?  Let’s just make sure we win again.   Who cares if our Jersey’s are outdated and look like NCIA Division-2 wear? As long as we’re flaring Green and White in the Super Bowl I’m happy.

I proceeded to scour the internet for some official Jet announcement regarding the colors they would wear and came up empty handed.  What I did find was lots of people …

The Fantasyland of Plaxico Burress

Giants Rumors & News

After reading the transcription of Plaxico Burress’ conference call, we get a pretty good idea of the fantasy world that the Giants receiver is living in. He has no regrets and didn’t lose any sleep over being suspended for a game for supposedly driving his 21-month-old son to school (Has he skipped a few grades? What school does a one-and-a-half-year-old go to?) without making a phone call to the Giants to explain why he wouldn’t be coming to work that day. He’s been fined at least 40 times for showing up late, not showing up at all or showing up at the wrong team’s practice facility. To say he “doesn’t get it” is an understatement.
The Giants just signed Burress to a long-term contract so he’s not going anywhere. He doesn’t make a jerk of himself like, say, Jeremy Shockey; he’s just living in an alternate universe to the one you and I live in. To get …

Rangers Czech Leftovers

Rangers Rumors & News

As the Rangers get ready for their real home opener against Chicago on Friday night, here are some leftover observations from their two-game set in Prague.
The Drury/Gomez/Naslund Line Works: The Rangers top line (at least for now) seems to be working. Scott Gomez and Markus Naslund scored two of the four Rangers goals, and Gomez picked up two assists and Naslund one. They seem to work well together, and Tom Renney is also using them as his top line on the power play. Chris Drury didn’t collect any points but he and Gomez have acquired instant chemistry. The captain doesn’t seem to have any problems shifting over to the right side. Now that they don’t have to worry about fitting in with Jaromir Jagr, Gomez and Drury look ready to take over the team, on the ice and in the locker room.
