Larry Hughes (Bulls) – Hughes averaged 13.3 points and shot 87% from the foul line last week. He scored a season high 26 points against the Warriors last Friday. He is also a good source for steals and three-pointers. Hughes should continue to start with SF Luol Deng sidelined due to a groin injury.

Ronnie Price (Jazz) – Price has done a formidable job filling in for injured starting PG Deron Williams. Price had two games last week with at least six assists and two steals. He has averaged 11 points his past three games.

D.J Augustin (Bobcats)- Augustin set career highs in points (21) and assists (7) against the Hawks last Friday. The rookie made his mark as a starter averaging 19 points, 4 assists and 2.7 threes a game last week. He has also played at least 34 minutes in his past three games.

Honorable mention: Steve Blake (Trailblazers)


Anthony Randolph (Warriors) – In two games last Randolph averaged 6.5 rebounds and three blocks. The rookie set career highs in rebounds (9) and blocks (4) against the Bulls last Friday. He also played a career high 28 minutes against the 76ers last Sunday.

Leon Powe (Celtics) – Powe is a key role player for the defending champions as he averaged 9 points and seven rebounds off the bench. He shot 65% from the field last week and grabbed a season high 11 rebounds against the Timberwolves last Friday.

Jason Maxiell (Pistons) – Maxiell has averaged 11 points and 7 boards in his past two games. He played a season high 28 minutes against the Celtics last Thursday and is looking to rebound from his earlier struggles.

Honorable mention: Vladimir Radmanovic (Lakers)


Jason Thompson (Kings) – Thompson averaged 14 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.3 blocks in four games last week. The rookie had career highs with 19 points and 12 rebounds against the Trailblazers on Friday. He has also played at least 31 minutes in his past five games with F/C Mikki Moore out with an injury.

Joel Anthony (Heat) – Anthony has nine blocks over his past four games. He does not play consistent minutes for the Heat but is a good source for some rebounds, steals and blocks.

Craig Smith (Timberwolves) – Smith scored a season high 21 points against the 76ers on Wednesday. Yesterday against the Pistons he scored 19 points, grabbed nine rebounds and blocked a shot. He is shooting 50 % from the field and has played at least 25 minutes in two of his past three games.
