Now that he's a league-wide pariah, it's a lot of money and the Rangers could end up eating a lot of it if Avery and Torts don't mix well. I also would've committed the money to Avery BEFORE I knew we'd have nearly 12 million per invested in Rozsival and Redden. The only way I'll be happy this deadline is if Sather moves a contract. Instead, if a guy like Mark Recchi is headed our way - blegh, at least baseball's around the corner. I would’ve taken him at this price tag in the offseason in a heartbeat. If they had brought him back at the beginning of the season it would have cost them $4 million, now they get him at less than half that. I think that if teams could have gotten him for $2 million per in October there would have been a lot more interested teams. I think it’s a fairly good bargain.
